And thus the story continues!
Alright! So after a lovely hiatus of work, choosing which college for my next degree AND finally learning how to play Warhammer 40k (I hate Iron Hands, just saying), I am back! So I don't have too much time for this post, but I will make up for it in the coming weeks! I picked up a third roadside recently and a hammerhead. I want to also pick up another Fire Warrior squad, longstrike, another crisis team and a sun shark bomber. Those will come later... Or if I sell off these old magic cards soon!
Anyway... So yeah I picked up the new broadside a bit ago and begun to put it together. Its actually a pretty interesting model kit. I didn't want to be locked into one weapon set though so.. I MAGNETIZED IT. Yes, I know I kept saying I would for many blog posts, but I finally found a shop that sold these tiny magnets. Took my power drill and went to work... I can honestly say I can't wait to paint it because the arm sockets are a bit butchered (but that's how the piranha felt as well) but all in all it is magnetized :) I can switch the heavy rail rifle with the HY missile pods easily and they don't droop! Well, I mean the left side did until I did a small mod... A giant robot can't have drooping arms. I also went around and magnetized one of the crisis suits. I gotta say I can't wait to magnetize the rest of them, so many options I can field!
Hmm what else... Oh! I also finally got around to basing and clear coating (which looks FANTASTIC, the slight shine really gives the tau that mechanical look). This pic isn't clear coated, but this is what the bases will basically look like, a few days after snow:
So that is all for now! I got a busy day tomorrow, but hopefully at night I can really get some work done on the broadside and maybe finish magnetizing and basing all the current models.
